Every year since 1970 Georgia's most famous Oktoberfest transforms tranquil Helen into the ultimate north Georgia party town. Polka with dancers in native costume, eat Bavarian food and enjoy the festival into the wee hours of the morning. Helen, Georgia became known as a tourist capital shortly after changing its appearence to look like a town in the Bavarian Alps. Good natured Pete Hodkinson, one of the four men responsible for revitalizing Helen, also created Oktoberfest, copied from the Bavarian town of Munich. 9th Annual Helen Oktoberfest Trip Saturday, October 4, 2008 - 10am - 9pm Join us as we take 2 coach buses to beautiful N. Georgia to visit Helen, Georgia.   The little German designed town that is home to 6 weeks of Oktoberfest. We will do a Helen bar crawl hitting on the fun spots.  This is a prepay event and will sell out!  No refunds for no shows!  We will leave from Pharr Rd @ Elbow Room across from Atlanta Fish Market @ 10am sharp.  We will leave  Helen at 9pm.  Please plan to arrive at 9:30am for check in. Articles will be safe that are left on bus that day while in Helen.   Trip includes coach bus transportation, beer, soft drinks, water & snacks.   Items left on bus will be secure. Post Party:  Fado's - Details T.B.A. Parking:  You can use Ameripark paylot at intersection of Grandview & E. Paces Ferry Rd.  This is a 3 story green office building.  There will be a parking attendant at the lot.  Parking is $10.  The attendant will arrive by 8am and your car will be safe until the return that night.  Limited space (46 spots per coach bus).  We have two coach buses reserved.
